The sex abuse lawsuits are hitting them pretty hard. In fact, a report came out stating that sex abuse related charges have cost the Boston Archdiocese at least $151 Million. Also, the worst is not yet over:
Yes, sexual abuse is wrong. Yes, someone should be punished. But is the Archdiocese to be held accountable for abuses done by a single priest? Or are people just out for money?
To date the Church has settled claims with more than 650 victims, but at least 200 more are working their way through legal channels, according to Mitchell Garabedian, one of the lawyers representing the plaintiffs.
